I have used this app for a few years now, and in general it is great for playing around with different house designs and floorplans. It is easy to learn as well. I have been a little frustrated recently with a weird bug that appears to be new, where it will randomly say that it has updated from iCloud, and it takes me out of whatever I was doing, and sometimes I lose a little bit of work. It is more annoying than anything.
I love this App
Easy to use. Absolutely intuitive. Help is fairly useless; however, mostly unnecessary. Has limitations but this isn’t SolidWorks for 1,000’s of dollars.
Glitches. Useless now. Can’t edit color, sizing or anything that has to do with modification, which is pretty much why such app would exist.
Ive been using this app for several years. It has served me well a builder/remodeler for making my own plan drawings for small and medium sized projects and has saved me countless times over. However, I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because I believe there are aspects of the app could be better. 1) better 3D graphics, 2) interactive tutorial for technical support, and most importantly 3) a better option for cross section/elevation drawing. This elevation view is absolutely critical for construction drawings. I use the “work plan” tools to do this in the floor plan model and I get by with it. However, this is not ideal because there are certain icon options that are not available such as long shaped angled arrows for small details to point to. All and all though this is a fantastic application and I recommend it to anyone for hobby or even if you are in my industry as well.
It’s very user friendly and pretty robust for DIY design. We are a design build contractor and this app has help our business tremendously the past 4+ years
This is a great program easy to use
Would suggest to anyone, easy to use!
It is a really great design app
I have recently purchased this app and find it to be a great app. I have used others before and they don't have accuracy and preciseness of this app to rely on for actual plans. It does take some learning as you might expect in an app that does what this does. I would like to see an expansion of the furniture library as it is missing some basic items such as air conditioning, microwaves(built in), food pantry etc . Those things may be less common in France but they are very common in places like USA, Australia etc the limitations on editing in 3D mode can be frustrating - it only allows you to change the the surfaces and colors and navigation in 3D is not intuitive so its easy to get lost trying to move around the structure. Overall though it allows you to rapidly build a design model and make changes and then change them into precise plans.
I spent ALOT of money on a lifetime plan for this app, only to now be told I can no longer save any projects without a subscription. This is a complete rip-off.
The app works well, but they are continually charging to use it. It’s just too expensive for what it is.
I just got this app and like it for floor planning so far but I wanted to make the next floor and it won’t let me add a floor opening nor can I find any other way to make a second floor. I was hoping to use this app to custom build houses for my characters and stories so I’m really disappointed and hope this can be fixed but from the look of the other reviews there’s no real customer service here
I’ve been using this program for a few years now. It was difficult to learn to use, much more difficult than you’d think. 1. There is virtually no support and the help guides are almost useless. It’s taken practice and trial and error to learn. 2. It’s a powerful program and from what I’ve seen, the only program that has the features someone needs to design a house from an iPad. That said, where is the customer support? I’ve reached out many times for help and never received a response. Most recently, I’ve seen what looks to be a bug with adding joined roofs. Is there an existing bug? I can’t get roofs to join consistently. Sometimes it works and sometimes (using the same settings), it doesn’t! Please help, I have several designs almost completed with exception to the roofs.
It allows you to create a good percentage of the blue prints you will need for your build. It takes a second for you to understand how to use the app tools for building your project but once you get the hang of it, you are able to produce a good report.
I do not know how to add a second floor?
I’d give it a 5 star but the app keeps crashing when trying to change the “floor level vertical shift (+/-)” under Terrace and Slab Properties
I can’t build a second floor there no button, there’s no realistic things, No sound, And no good graphics. You are the worst home builder game that you made group ever😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😤😤😠 0 stars for this… harsh… can’t-build SECOND floor… And werid no-good game. It would better if controls where EVEN M O R E easy😤 You manic 😡😡😡😡 -Jace Sudaria
If ur a newbie and JUST downloaded this game, read the insructions, and then have NO IDEA what do to do after, then thats meh. I know i just downloaded this, but i dont understand how to do it ONE sInGlE BIT. I looked at the ads and reviews, and i thought it would be easier.. but its not easy. I have NO IDEA how the hEcK they went throuh the rooms in the ad..and so far? Bad. You can try it and you might understand how. I'll report again soon if i find out how. DUN DUN DUUUU- (dead)...
Love this app. Only took me a few hours to nail down interior and exterior dimensions of our 1100sf ranch from a high level plan from the lumber company!
I was looking for an app to help me put ideas of what I’d like to create for my floor plan. This one came up for my iPad and looked to easy in the video. Not only is it extreamly hard to use but it only gives you the free floor planner then you have to purchase the rest of the app to create your home. What a waste of space on my iPad!!! Thanks a million for nothing!!!
I had read the reviews on this and decided that enough were positive that I would try it. To unlock all the features you have to subscribe. Well I did and then I found that this is not as simple as it was purported to be. If you want different exterior wall heights such as for a large motor home garage (16 foot ceiling), their is no intuitive means to create this and after waiting 25 hours for a response from their technical support, I’ve decided that this review is warranted. Frankly I just want my subscription ended and refunded.
I think it’s OK and fun I like the concept and if I don’t like the concept later on I will delete it but for right now I like the concept I think it’s fun so yeah
I
I could not do anything but delete plans, I could not move a roof to the top of the house, and I could not create a blank surface to use. Very disappointing.
I got this game to draw out my dream room. I can’t find out how to make it go into 3D mode. As soon as I want to save my project, it asks me to subscribe. That is plain annoying. Maybe YOU can figure it out, though.
Inspired by a local home show in my area, I decided to undertake two home design projects — an addition to my current home, and an elaborate dream home. I started searching the App Store for home design apps, and downloaded trial versions of 8 of them. Of those, I've deleted all but 2, and paid for the full versions of both. Of all those apps, this is the best, though there are some trade-offs to be made. For drawing floor plans, this app is head and shoulders above any of the others. You start with a basic 20x20-ft. slab with a floor and 4 walls. But from there you can slice, dice, push, pull and stretch to quickly, easily and intuitively create any basic building shape you want. The app distinguishes between exterior, load-bearing and partition walls, and adding rooms inside your building is a simple matter of drawing in the walls and putting them where you want them. The app provides measurements as you go, and keeps track of your square footage. The app even lets you slow down movements to make precise placement easier. You can also design your building to fit a real-world parcel of land by using the site plan tool. You start by finding the location where you're planning to build on a satellite map, tapping at one corner of the lot and dragging to the other 3 corners to set your lot lines, then typing in the setbacks. Then, when you go to begin your floor plan, a site map is there for you to make sure your building fits your lot. You can also do basements and/or multiple stories, and add porches/terraces, balconies and roofs as easily as you draw in floors. Windows and doors are literally a snap, and you can customize their height, width and (in the case of windows) height above the floor by typing the values in on a dialogue box, which makes the process extremely simple (you can also manually stretch windows and doors by touch). I've only scratched the surface of the floor planning capabilities of this app. It's an extremely powerful tool for laying out any type of building. Where the app is lacking is in its 3D modeling capabilities. This is not intended to be an interior design app — you can't modify the color or texture of the interior except for floors, and the available colors and textures for those and the exterior are limited (though new ones are being added with each update). There are some basic furnishings included, and you can manipulate their dimensions to match a specific piece, but be warned: if you're looking for a full-featured 3D modeler, look elsewhere — at least for now. It is that shortcoming which prevents me from giving this app 5 stars. That said, I was able to create a pretty good 3D model of my dream home — good enough to get me excited about exploring further design possibilities. The full version of the app is sold on a subscription basis, and the price of a subscription can get pretty steep. But the nice thing is that even when your subscription runs out, you can still select one floor plan and continue to make changes and modifications to it. I'm happy enough with the app that I do intend to re-subscribe. The developer's customer service and response to requests and complaints is excellent. They even offered to help me correct problems with my model (though I was ultimately able to correct most of them myself), and offered several tips and pointers via e-mail correspondence. Definitely do fill out and return the e-mail feedback form in the app's help section — the developers do read and take your comments seriously. That's a rare feature in the mobile app world these days. UPDATE: After leaving the app alone for a while, I returned to it recently. Most of what I wrote above still applies. Though the developer has improved the 3-D modeling, it’s still not as full-featured as I would like. So still 4 stars. That said, I would like to add a couple of suggestions: (1) I don’t know how hard this is to do, not being an app developer, but since you can export plans in DXF format, it would be helpful if you could import DXF files into your plan as well. Most appliance, fixture, and furniture manufacturers have DXF files of their products available on their web sites, and it would be nice to be able to use those to place specific items in our plans rather than the limited generic ones provided. This would save the developer from having to add new items to their basic furnishing files as well. (We need a vanity for the bathroom, guys!) (2) Windows, windows, windows! It would be nice if users could customize not just the number of panes across in a window, but the number of vertical panes as well. (3) Add a drawing option. In the age of the Apple Pencil, it would be nice if we could draw our own furnishings and even material texture files. Adding Apple Pencil support to the iOS version would also make more precise work in manipulating walls, terraces, and slabs possible. (4) As others have asked for, the ability to do curved walls would be cool. Just some thoughts. I still love this app!
I am 9 years old and this app is soooo easy to use and If I could rate this app 10000 stars I would
Thank you for macking this app
This is mutes do t get it it’s dume ok don’t get it I am warning you
This is the best of many, and a subscription is definitely worth it. The idea of being able to design a whole house is just amazing to me! I already wanted to be an architect but this game took it to a whole new level. The controls are pretty wonky at first but even for a nine year old like myself, I got used to it immediately. I definitely recommend playing this amazing app about architecture.
Should made a little easier for first time users.
Designing my own new home. This makes it easy to come up with and share ideas with my builder. Easy to learn and use. Amazing design capabilities for a small app. Cut away view is awesome.
I know it is very simple, and first time i ever write a review, but dang this app is good. I mean, ive always wanted to search something with 3d modeling and i found this! The graphics are kind of simple, yes, but you can do so much stuff with it! They even have a YouTube channel that can teach you stuff that you dont know! Since it is quite simple, i learned that you can: Add floors, join roofs and much more Add furniture (should add more) Color stuff, add outside stuff (swimming pools, trees, theres a way to make paths, ramps for like underground parking) Multiple kinds of options for each thing (double tap, theres garage doors too!) Underground floors, blueprint kind of way of working and easy to learn! I mean, i got the hang of it in like a day. I'm on an ipad and im stuck in iOS 10.3.3 and this is perfect because a can install it without a problem and in my opinion its a great time killer, and with time and effort you can do whatever kind of structure you want!
This game is so much fun I have played it for an hour and still are I always wanted to decorate a house I love the game So so much
Very very basic. Not worth the money
I’d relay prefer if u guys can let us build in 3D so it can make it easier instead of drawing it and going back and forth
Much too expensive
I chose this app because it has Roof selections... but it was more frustrating than its worth. Why would you design an app that doesn’t allow you to edit in the 3D mode? Every thing has to be edited in the blueprint... from selecting doors, windows, and objects... you can’t visually see what it looks like... it’s like designing with a blindfold on... you make the selection, and drag it to the blueprint... then you have to change screens and see if fit correctly....and worse when making selections such as windows, they don’t give you the actual visual picture, they give you the description.... I have no idea what most of the selection descriptions are, so I have to click and drag it to the blueprint, and then change screens to the 3D and see what it is.... and worst you can’t edit in the 3D selection... the selections are few and far between, and the graphic selections are subpar... I’ve been using home Design 3D for a year now, and it by far has the best graphics, selection choices and the best ease of access of all the 3d home design apps, except there’s one huge draw back... they don’t have have roof selections.... my advice would be to copy what Home Design 3D offers and improve your app... I give this app a D+.
Or pay $449.99? Forget this app! Greed!
This app is fairly simple to learn but there are a few things that need to be added or changed. 1. I can’t change the size or shape of the terrace or ramp feature. It stays at 20’x20’ and there is nothing that can be done with it other than change elevation. I can resize a terrace in one of the existing plans that came with the app but I can’t do it on my plan. I even purchased a 1 month subscription. 2. The windows are set backwards for the double hung option. They should be flush on the exterior and recessed on the interior. It’s currently the opposite. 3. There needs to be an option for a free hand tool to be able to draw custom objects. Example, I need to draw a kitchen countertop with an angle. There is no option to do it. 4. Add more kitchen and bathroom fixture options. 5. Add carpet options for flooring. I’d give 5 stars and purchase if some of these things would be added
Great Izzy and Sadie 123foxy girl
BEST APP EVER but it needs more items such as clear windows or curve tv or place to put books Please do it
I can find wall surface area, but the most important statistic is completely awol: where is the total living area?
After a day it deletes all of your house
Have used many different home design apps. This is simply the best. Very smooth and easy to use considering all that it can do. Excellent help manual. Just updated and love the new look and improvements. Keep up the good work. Follow up 1-18-18 App is still my go to. The last update was great. Keep up the great work. Follow 7-27-18 Still loving this app. The updates are very nice. Thanks
This game makes no sense I have no idea how to do anything it is so complicated. Well made game but very difficult to understand.
Great fun, little bit of a learning curve to get used to how to use it but otherwise awesome. I use it to visualize home concepts I’m thinking about. I love how you can customize materials, furniture, fixtures. Wish they had light fixtures. Love all the roof options!
